The book “If Your Kid Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay” by Lara Zibners, MD is a great book to have around, that will surprise you how helpful and amusing it is. I received this book to check out before it comes out, and it is very interesting and helpful.
With chapters on bumps, bodily pain and problems, poisons, illnesses and any other situation that may cause you to worry or go to the ER, this book is filled with so much. As a mom of two little ones, I have called Poison Control twice, been to the ER once, and called my pediatriacin about 3 times for issues with my sons. After reading this book, I now feel more informed and prepared, as it is inevitable I will be able to use something I learned from this book throughout their lives. Dr. Lara Zibners is not saying to live only by this book, as you know your child best, but it really is a great reference and resource book that can’t hurt reading!
Another aspect of this book that I love is that it is not a typical parent book that tells you how to take care of your kids in everyday life. It is a book geared towards treating ill and injured kids. Your child doesn’t have to be a sickly kid either, as if your kids are like mine then every day is an adventure!
“If Your Kid Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay” is a 320 page paperback book that will be released 6/17/2009. It will retail for $14.99 in the US and $16.99 in Canada.
Full Description from Hachette Book Group:
As an Emergency Room pediatrician, Dr. Lara Zibners has seen it all. She’s cared for a portion of the 25 million children in the
Finally, no more frantic late-night searches through the “why to buy,” “how to diaper,” or “what to feed him” sections found in other childcare books to find out if little Franny needs to go to the ER. This book focuses on the truly important questions, like how to keep her from electrocuting herself in the first place. Not every child has a pediatrician with specialized emergency room experience living in her home. But this book just might be the next best thing.
Lara Zibners, MD, is a former Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at
