Book Review: "Between Wyomings: My God and an iPod" by Ken Mansfield

Always looking for a new and different book to read, I recently received the book “Between Wyomings: My God and an iPod on the Open Road” by Ken Mansfield. Now if Ken Mansfield sounds familiar that is because he is a Grammy-winning producer that has worked with the Beatles, Beach Boys, Glen Campbell, The Steve Miller Band and so many more great artists! Now I can only imagine the crazy life of anyone in the music field, especially in the 1970’s. Well Mansfield confesses in his book that “sometimes it takes a change of scenery to move you beyond the mire of the past to a deeper, more intimate faith.”

Between Wyomings is not a religious book, but it is more of a spiritual book of self-discovery and honesty. The book details his three-month road-trip where he talks about the good, the bad, and the tragic. Now I admit I love non-fiction and I love to hear about people’s real life experiences so I enjoyed this book. It also helped that Ken referenced personal experiences with popular music icons and chronicled his 30 years of life in LA, London, and Nashville.

Between Wyomings was a fast and easy read for me. It is also a book that you can put down and pick up and not feel lost. I love how Ken Mansfield was brutally honest in his thoughts and recollections and he really left me a lot to think about. He also says a lot that we all think but don’t say or do.

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer: I was given this book to review from Thomas Nelson Book Bloggers. This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any other way for this product review.
