Sprout is like a lifesaver in my house. It is the first (and only that I know of) 24-hour preschool network created for children ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers. It is available on TV, on demand, and online. It even follows the day of a preschooler with shows at breakfast time to wake up and shows at bedtime to wind down. It features some of our favorite characters from HIT Entertainment, PBS and Sesame Street!

I love Sprout because there are no tween shows or inappropriate commercials to watch. Sprout is strictly educational shows geared towards toddlers! It is even great if you have a sick kid or a child that for whatever reason is up really early or late and rather than fumbling around for a DVD, just flip on Sprout.

Besides being an awesome channel to watch, Sprout also has a terrific website! On the Sprout website you can check out pictures, games, videos, crafts and coloring, recipes and more.  In the spirit of Christmastime, Sprout has some great Holiday Activities!

• MyPICME: You upload a picture of your Sproutlet and use the easy photo tools to create personalized games, coloring pages, and even send a Holiday e-greeting! Oh and your child can even be picked to appear on The Sprout Sharing Show!

• Preschool Musical on Two Sticks: a musical Sproutacular with stick puppets featuring a variety of favorite characters on an exciting journey through a snowstorm. The show premieres Dec. 24th at 5:30pm ET.

• Third Annual Snooze-A-Thon: 12 hours of uninterrupted segments that encourage kids to go to bed on time since all of their favorite characters are already sleeping. Starts Dec. 24th at 6pm ET and continues through 6am ET on the 25th.

• Countdown to Noon: Celebrate the New Year the preschool way as The Sunny Side Up Show crew counts down to noon starting December 31st at 11:30am ET.
