Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet Review & Giveaway (Ends 3/15)

My favorite part of visiting the dentist is when he shoots the water thing in my mouth and around each tooth. Something about that rush of water just always leave my mouth feeling so clean and refreshed. Unfortunately I only go tot the dentist about twice a year for cleanings so I have been stuck with flossing and toothpaste.

Now I don’t know how I didn’t know this was invented, but Waterpik has the Ultra Dental Water Jet for regular people like me! It is a first of all 20% smaller than previous models and it is the perfect size for your countertop and all your other bathroom essentials. It does have to be plugged in so it does need to be by an outlet and you do need to spit, so the sink is a must too.

Now when you first take it out of the box, it is ready to be used, no assembly required. You can store all the six tips, including the new orthodontic and toothbrush tips, right inside the lid and you just have to fill it with water when ready to use. It also guarantees results in 14 days or less.

Benefits:

• Improves dental hygiene and is clinically proven to be up to 93% more effective than dental floss at improving gum health
• Removes bacteria deep between teeth and below the gumline where brushing and flossing will not reach
• Massages and stimulates gums to help prevent gingivitis and improve oral health
• Works with water or your favorite mouthwash
• Leaves a clean, fresh sensation

Features:

• Advanced pressure control system with 10 pressure settings ranging from 5 to 90 psi
• Contemporary, compact design is 20% smaller than previous models
• Quietest operation ever
• Unique reservoir lid with tip compartment for hygienic storage solution
• Reservoir capacity of 600 mL (20.3 oz)
• Two-year warranty

I have been using this for about a week so far and honestly, I love it! At first, it was strange and I got water everywhere, but the next day I had it down pat. I mainly use the Standard Jet Tip and Tongue Cleaner, but there is also a Pik Pocket, Orthodontic Tip, and Toothbrush Tip. I was shocked though to read that it is 93% more effective than flossing at improving dental health. I can definitely see how it would get plaque out better and the rush of water can be pretty powerful, but you can adjust the water from 1 to 10. I highly recommend listening to the directions and starting out at a low setting and working your way up.

Since my kids love to brush their teeth, but are terrible brushers, I have actually been using this on the lowest setting for them and they too love it! (They are 3 years old and 18 months). I would highly recommend checking out the Ultra Dental Water Jet, if you feel like you are missing something in your brushing routine, or want to see what your missing!

Other than this particular Water Jet model, Waterpik also offers a whole bunch of other great products for Oral Health and even Shower Heads.

I hate dental floss, it always seems to shred when trying to get it between my teeth. Even the waxed and “glide” kinds, it doesn’t seem to matter because my teeth are so close together. A waterpik would be perfect.

    Mollie G. says:

I love how I can mix-and-match, change the “tip of the day” according to how my mouth feels — and getting down underneath the gum line is hard to do with any other technique, but you KNOW that’s where the hygenists spend the most of their time when it comes to cleaning up the stuff YOU can’t ordinarily get to. I’d love to be able to do THAT part of their job, ’cause that’s what irritates the gums and causes problems.

SOMEtimes it just takes more than “only floss the ones you want to keep”!!
