Horizon Organic Lowfat Chocolate Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 Review & Giveaway – 3 Winners (Ends 5/5)

Horizon has just come out with a new product to help support heart, brain and eye health.  Horizon Organic Lowfat Chocolate Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 is a great way to add calcium and DHA to your family’s diet.

DHA is a product that every baby formula contains and after that you never really hear about it.  Well DHA is a healthy fatty acid that can be found in high concentrations of tissues in the brain and eye.

Horizon has been around since 1991 producing wholesome and delicious organic dairy products, all without antibiotics, pesticides or cloning, from cows not given added growth hormones.  All of their products contain the USDA certified organic seal, are produced with through family farmers, and the company supports kindess to animals and the environment.

Other than Organic Chocolate Milk, Horizon produces White Milk, Yogurt, Cheese, Cream, and other dairy products.  The website is also full of tons of yummy recipes, facts, and other valuable information.

MY THOUGHTS:

Whenever possible I do try to buy Organic foods, but it can get costly especially for foods my kids eat and drink a lot.  Milk is one product that I never really thought of purchasing an Organic version because my sons drink so much of it – we go through a gallon every 2-3 days.  Well after giving them the new Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk, I think they are hooked.

Now the Chocolate Milk is a little more expensive than what I am used to for milk so I will adding it just to our grocery list, but only giving it to the kids once a day instead of all the time.  I figure that way they get their special treat and I get the assurance of knowing that they are getting health benefits!  If they only new I was happy they were drinking Chocolate Milk, they probably wouldn’t want it anymore!  I am also going to check out their other products and slowly go more and more organic.  I am very excited though as I did not realize organic dairy could taste better than regular dairy!  I think my husband and alone could drink the half gallon in one sitting – yes we are hooked too!

One other product that I really love though is their Organic Milk Boxes.  They look like juice boxes, but come in yummy flavors of plain 2%, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.  Oh and Horizon even came out with yogurt-tubes called Tuberz that you can freeze if you want!  So with those two items, it sounds like a perfect snack!
