My Husband’s Badge

Submitted by on May 21, 2010 – 10:17 PM2 Comments

I think it is funny how something so simple as my husband’s badge holder amuses my son.  Actually both of my sons love it.  When my 3 year old was little he would pull on it as soon as my husband walked in the front door and now my youngest does it.  My husband always gets so upset because it is basically yanking on him and his poor badge is barely held together with staples currently, but I think secretly my husband likes the attention from our boys.  I tell him that he should take off his badge in his car before he comes in the house, but since I am his wife, he obviously doesn’t listen to me!  My husband also has a tendency to leave his badge at home and it is a pain to get into his work if he doesn’t have it.  Of course he can get a temporary badge but it is basically frowned upon and it doesn’t necessarily give him all the access he needs.

I know this is a strange topic to blog about, but it is one of those things that drive me crazy.  Every night my boys pull on it and every night my husband gets upset about it.  Why doesn’t he just listen to me and take it off in the car?  Or suck it up and deal with the fact that the kids think it’s a toy!  I mean they pull it and it comes down, they let go and it flies back up, now if it only played a fun song my boys would never let it go!  I also don’t understand why my husband can’t get a new one as they seem pretty cheaply made and since he wears it everyday, staples and tape probably is not too professional!
