Many school-age children would rather play Wii Sports than actually go outside, but according to a recent study*, spending time outdoors has health and cognitive benefits for kids. Children will love seeing nature in a new way with Coghlan’s Kid’s Bug-Eye Headlight. This headlight creates inexpensive (Retail $9) and educational opportunities for kids that can be used at home or in the classroom.

Campaigns such as Connecticut’s No Child Left Inside encourage educators and parents to get kids outside running and climbing instead of inside texting and gaming. The Bug-Eye Headlight is compact, lightweight and powered by a bright white LED that never needs replacing. The light also features a comfortable elastic head strap in a fun purple and yellow color combination.

MY THOUGHTS:

Even though this product is recommend for ages 6 and up, my boys (2 and 3) have been having a ball with it!  They think it is funny to put it on and run around.  It doesn’t bother their heads at all, although they do prefer to carry it around rather than wear it.  I think it is a great product for kids to use to get out and explore or in the winter to explore inside!  It is very simple and small, perfect for kids.  It also keeps their arms free to carry items or explore!
