VTech V.Reader Learning Lodge Navigator Review (& Giveaway Ends 1/14)

My son loves his VTech V.Reader and I love that I have the ability to connect it to the VTech Learning Lodge Navigator to download stories to it. If your child has a VTech V.Reader or MobiGo, you may or may not be familiar with the Learning Lodge Navigator, but it really does enhance the experience. For the V.Reader there is a wide variety of stories to choose from and even a whole bunch that are free! It is a super easy to use program, where you connect via a standard USB cable to your computer and browse the selections.

Vtech recently released four new premium Sesame Street titles available for download on the V.Reader. They can be downloaded from VTech’s Learning Lodge Navigator — a free online tool available at www.vtechkids.com/download. Now the Sesame Street titles do cost $4.99 each but that is a whole lot cheaper than buying a whole cartridge at the store and about the same price as a regular book! You can also purchase other titles for $2.99. I honestly prefer to download titles (which I save on an SD card I inserted into my V.Reader) rather than buying cartridges because it is not something my boys can loose! Now the big difference is the books that you can download are not the big name characters like Toy Story 3 or Dora, but they are still super cute (and educational) stories that my son loves regardless!

Vtech also just released an iphone app, “VTech: What’s That Noise” The app, which can be purchased on iTunes for only $2.99 tasks kids to watch a story about Rufus the dog and play up to eight reading games.

And in the spirit of giving this holiday season, VTech has partnered with the non-profit organization First Book to launch a “Buy a Book, Give a Book” campaign. VTech will donate a book for each purchase of a V.Reader interactive e-reading system, e-book or accessory. Through this campaign, VTech will donate a total of 15,000 new books to First Book and kids in need.

BUY IT: V.Reader gift cards, which can only be used to purchase V.Reader titles from the Learning Lodge Navigator, will be available for purchase in stores soon.
