MY THOUGHTS:

The Word Whiz is simple but fun educational toy. It is a kid-sized electronic game that is for kids ages 5-8 years old (grades k-3.) There are three levels to this game – 3 letter, 4 letter, and 5 letter words. It gives the last letters of the word and the child has to pick the first 1 or 2 letters. My four year old is just learning letters and words and while he doesn’t get all the words right, we have been working on sounding them out and putting the words together. The goal is to make as many words as you can in 60 seconds, and if you match a incorrect word, it does blink what the right word is. My sons have other game systems that have similar games you can buy for it, but the simplicity of the Word Whiz makes it easier I think for kids since it is not overwhelming with activities or sounds – it also doesn’t require you to buy any games or cartridges, although it does require 3 AAA batteries which are not included. The size of this also makes it great to keep in the car or just for kids to carry around!
