In The Big Bang Theory, Penny has always been the lone girl in the group of guys.  In Season 4 though, Penny gets some girlfriends, with the introductions of Bernadette and Amy.  I think it was about time that there were some girlfriends for Penny!  While I think it is totally okay for guys and girls to be close friends, I also think it is important to have separate time.  There are just some things that girls need to talk to other girls about and I am sure the same goes for guy stuff.    Sometimes you just want to vent too about the about sex and it is kinda hard for them not to be bias!

I was always the lone girl when we’d go out as I just got along better with guys.  I did though usually have one or two close girlfriends, but I regret not spending enough time with them.  I will say though that one of those girlfriends from highschool is now my son’s godmother and we have stay in touch, which is a lot more than I can say for my guy friends.  I think too it is harder to be close friends with the opposite sex if you are in a committed relationship.

So anyways I am happy for Penny and I think it just gives the show more perspective and character personalities to show off!
