Captain Squiddy’s Jigsaw Quest – Captain Squiddy

Released: September 6, 2011

ABOUT THE APP:

Captain Squiddy’s Jigsaw Quest is an easy to play story based jigsaw puzzle game. Kids play this game by themselves and control the friendly squid captain in his search for treasure.

This highly unique Jigsaw Puzzle game is primarily targeted at younger pirate prospects around the age of 3-7 years old, but can easily be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age. Get ready to sharpen your sword, gather your parrot, and polish your wooden leg, because you are about to begin a quest of exploration, adventure, and puzzle solving!

MY THOUGHTS:

First off the animation is truly amazing in this game, the colors and items are vibrant and crisp.  To play this game you just swipe your finger around the ocean for your boat to move.  you then visit spots in the ocean where you have to complete a puzzle.  For example, the screen will say help find the island and the puzzle you are putting together now includes an image of an island.  My boys (3 and 4) love it and I admit I think it is pretty neat.  I think skill wise it is perfect for ages 3 and up, maybe to 7 or 8.   It is neat because it is a pirate ship searching for adventure through solving puzzles, following a certain path, and more.  You even get gold coins that you can buy items with like a jukebox in the game that plays different music!  While this game may not be super educational, it does have its problem-solving aspect as well as being fun!  Nothing is inappropriate for young kids either!

BUY IT: You can download Captain Squiddy’s Jigsaw Quest – Captain Squiddy for your iPad for $0.99.
