MY THOUGHTS:

Any child learning their colors, sorting skills, and shapes, needs to check out the Super Sorting Pie!

Fruity pie teaches early number skills and attributes, including colors and fruit shapes.

  • Provides supportive visual clues, thanks to the sorting cards that slip into the bottom of the pan
  • Keeps things organized: top crust becomes a bowl to conveniently hold counters
  • Reinforces fine motor skills when children use jumbo tweezers, featuring depressions that guide little hands into the proper pincer grip
  • Includes 60 counters (5 different colors of apples, bananas, grapes, oranges, grapefruits, apricots and plums), durable plastic pie (8.75″ in diameter), removable divider, 3 double-sided sorting cards, 2 jumbo tweezers and Activity Guide
  • Grades PreK+

This pie is adorable!  It is a lot bigger than I expected, as is each of the fruit pieces.  There are so many different uses for this pie that it is fun to see what my they come up with.  There are tons of fruits (60 to be exact) that kids can match up and sort.  There are two plastic tweezers included that are perfect for little kids hands.  Once all done all the pieces fit nicely in the pie and you can close it up.  It would be nice if the pie top snapped on to seal the pie shut as I am worried pieces will fall out, but at least it does cover it up.  You can also use the pie top crust to put all the pieces in while sorting them.

The Super Sorting Pie is perfect for kids to not only have fun but learn a few things too.  My boys are 3 and 5 and think its cool.  I will say it is definitely not for kids younger than 3 if they are still putting stuff in their mouths, as the pieces are kind of small.  Overall, though this product has so many great features that I don’t see getting bored with it anytime soon!

BUY IT: The Super Sorting Pie retails for $27.99 and is available at www.LearningResources.com, other online retailers and specialty stores.
