My boys love bubbles and love to make messes, so when I got the chance to review Crayola Outdoor Colored Bubbles I knew they’d be a hit. They are colored bubbles that give that extra fun touch to bubble blowing! You can use them alone or with the Crayola Bubble Launcher. Now yes these are colored bubbles that will leave temporary marks on skin, cotton, outdoor surfaces and basically wherever they land, but they do rub off skin and wash off of most products. I never tried the old Crayola bubble version but I read this is a new formula designed after parents feedback of how messy they were.
Some tips for using:
- Dress for Mess. Have your kids wear washable play clothes and shoes.
- Play Outside. (Not intended for use at formal events like weddings.)
- Rub skin to remove colored bubble marks.
- Wash clothes promptly.
- Hose down outdoor surfaces to was away color marks.
(It did get on me, but came off as rubbing away)
So honestly I have a love/hate relationship with these bubbles. I love the concept of them, but I hate how my boys felt the need to spray everything with the bubble solution. They also thought it was fun to blow bubbles all over their clothes. I will say though that I haven’t had a problem washing their clothes or our outdoor surfaces, no stains were left. Will I buy Crayola Outdoor Colored Bubbles? Probably not. They were cool but my boys weren’t as excited about the colors as I thought they’d be and I fear of staining something that isn’t easily washed. Maybe for older kids who are more careful they’d be nice.
We did though absolutely love the Bubble Launcher. It is super easy to use and doesn’t require batteries! Just snap on a bubble bottle and crank away! My boys tend to have trouble blowing bubbles on their own so this was perfect to get tons of fun bubbles out.
Handle for cranking:
