So for the past three years, we have driven to Florida to visit Disney World with our kids. Now I admit I am not a healthy eater but I am trying to be, especially so I can be a good role model for my children. Since our road trip from Chicago to Orlando was about 17 hours I knew we needed snacks for the drive. We had planned of course to stop on the way at some fast food locations but really there is only so much fast food one can eat and again it is not necessarily the healthiest either.
I feel too that eating certain foods in the car isn’t the smartiest either due to the motion and how food can make your children feel. Will it make them have to go to the bathroom more? Will it upset their stomach? Make them throw up from sitting in the hot backseat mixed with motion sickness? For us it was all the above. We have learned to travel smart.
Some good foods to road trip with:
- Apples (or other not perishable fruit)
- Sandwiches (although these need to be kept in a cooler, so best eaten at first stop)
One thing I never really thought about was a probiotic for my kids! What a great idea! Culturelle makes probiotics for kids both in a chewable (50-100 lbs.) and a power form (25-50 lbs.) I have probiotics for them at home to take but for a road trip they are our new must pack!
Culturelle Kids is all about helping kids with digestive heath and overall health. It even helps your immune system as 70% of your immune system is in your digestive tract, so a healthy and balanced digestive system means stronger overall heath. So while kids are eating the traditional junk food and such (come on its vacation so we all slip a little bit) on the road trip, Culturelle Kids helps support kids digestive systems. The powder packets are easy to take and flavorless, so no worrying that kids won’t like them! The Chewables are Natural Bursting Berry Flavor.
So hears to a healthy tummies and healthy kids. No more bloating, irregularity, or occasional diarrhea while road tripping thanks to Culturelle Kids!
