Primary Science Magnet Set {Learning Resources}

My boys (4 and 5) are curious about everything.  Now that my one is in Kindergarten he is starting to learn more about all sorts of subjects, science especially.  Magnets are something that always amazed me so I admit I was just as excited to check out the Primary Science Magnet Set from Learning Resources, as my boys were!

Primary Science Magnet Set

Attract early learners to the wonders of magnetism!

  • Explore how they attract and repel! Chunky, playful magnets in a variety of shapes
  • Includes 10 Activity Cards and a Guide
  • Largest piece (maze tray) measures 11″L x 8.5″W x .5″H
This kit includes 14 pieces including 10 double-sided activity cards.  The activity cards are both easy and challenging and some require some household objects such as water or paperclips.  The set though was fun on its own for us.  My boys were amazed at how the magnets would stick together one way and not the other way.  I started teaching them about polar opposites, magnetism and science in general.   The pieces that this kit comes with are ones that I would have never thought of using together.  There is a big horsehoe magnet perfect to work little magnetic ladybugs through a maze.  Ring magnets and a magnetic post are fun because you can make the magnetics float on the pole.  My sons favorite though is the Snap-on Cars.  You can push the cars together and watch them spin away from one another or magnetically snap them together to zoom around.  This is a simple kit but fun and perfect for young learners.
