When Do You Get Your Child’s Picture Taken?

So school pictures are coming up and it got me thinking.  Do you get your child’s picture taken with school or yearly around their birthday?  My son is in Kindergarten and just wondering what the norm is.  I am thinking I will buy the class picture but I know at least for pre-school the school pictures were so expensive and you got what you got.  When I take my kids to the portrait studio (aka Target Portrait Studio) I usually have a good coupon and I pick the best picture.

So what do you do?

    I have been getting the smallest package that includes the class photo. The pics aren’t the best but at least I know I’ll have a decent photo to look back at and see how they’ve changed
