Glow Crazy Doodle Dome {Review}

Glow Crazy Logo_Techno Source

My boys love playing with flashlights but they get boring and old fast.  So when we tried out the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler last year and my boys thought it was the coolest thing ever.  Somehow though they forgot about it, and then we got the new Glow Crazy Doodle Dome to check out and they have become doodling fools again!  The Glow Crazy Doodle Dome is exactly what it sounds like, it is a black dome that kids can sit inside and doodle on!  What is great about the dome is that kids can use it whether it is dark or not because otherwise you really do need it to be pretty dark for it to work on the Glow Crazy paper.

Now, kids can play in the dark anywhere, anytime of the day with this portable glow art studio from Techno Source. With the Glow Crazy light pen they can draw, write and play games on the dome’s special inner glow wall. Kids can also put on light shows for their friends and family, use stencils to create cool glow scenes, and make fun silhouettes using their hands, toys, or even their friends. Kids can let their glow creations fade or “glow over” them to clear their canvas and start again. Includes light pen, 4 stencil sheets and everything needed to assemble the glow dome in a handy carrying case. Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Ages 3+.

The Glow Crazy Doodle Dome includes:

  • 1 lightwand
  • 1 doodle dome
  • 1 carrying case
  • 4 stencil sheets
  • 1 fun tip booklet

The Doodle Dome is a pop up tent that is all black and actually pretty big.  I was able to fit in there with my two little ones, now we were tightly squeezed in there, but we fit.  The tent is great because it easily pops open and folds back up into a circle to then fit in the included carrying bag.  Yes it comes with its own carrying bag!  Perfect for overnight trips since its easy to carry or whip it out for a silly sleepover.  It is definitely a unique toy and conversation starter for kids!  It is great to store too which I love because other tents are big and bulky.

This is the white part inside that you can draw on:

You can see the size here, its taller than my kitchen table:

Oh and there are also little mesh squares to let air in so your kids don’t feel so claustrophobic:

Opening the tent was super easy, nothing to install it just pops open.  Then you also get the Glow Crazy Light pen and a stencil set.  You do need to add two AA batteries which are not included.  So now my kids can doodle in the dark whether its morning, afternoon or evening.  My boys also think its super cool to play in the tent since it perfectly sized for the two of them.  Inside the tent there is only one wall of the tent that the Glow Crazy pen works on, which it would have been nice to have all four walls coated with the glow wall liner.  My boys don’t seem to mind though as they sit against one wall and write across on the other.  Overall, everything you need (except the two batteries) is included and there is no assembly required.  It is a fun and unique toy that I am sure my boys will be playing with for awhile.
