January to me is a time to wind down from the craziness of the holidays and start planning out my year. First things first is my son’s birthday which is the end of January and then there is the Superbowl and it goes on from there. Our house seems to be place to be, which is fine with me since its hard for us to go anywhere with our three kids. Superbowl is a big deal in our household because my family loves football, I honestly love the Superbowl for the food. Yes I said it, I love the Superbowl only for the food. We usually go all out with appetizers and other munchies and it is a time when I try out something new. This is also the first Superbowl after my obsession with Pinterest, which means I have a million recipes I want to try and Pin myself!
Dips are something that I love because of their versatility and convenience. So what staple do I turn to to make a perfect dip for this year’s game day? Musselman’s Apple Butter of course! Yes you are probably thinking I am strange but with Apple Butter as the base you can make a perfect dip for anything!
I came up with a Sweet and Spicy Dip using just three ingredients I had in my fridge. I made it for dinner one night to use with coconut shrimp, but I tried some pretzels and crackers and it was amazing! This is a dip I can use with dinner or snacks and it is one dip that I am sure will be a hit at our party! My husband already told everyone I am making it so I guess he likes it too.
