Ingredients
- 1 package shrimp, peeled and de-tailed (I used Large 12oz. bag but you can use any size)
- 1/2 cup lite mayonnaise
- 4 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- (I ended up making my sauce way too spicy and cut it with Musselman's Apple Butter, so definitely go easy on the Chili sauce and add more slowly)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- You need to make two bowls of dry seasonings:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder - I used Old Bay Seasoning instead
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder - I used Old Bay Seasoning instead
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Mix together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl, cover and set aside.
- In a bowl mix together egg and milk mixture.
- Mix each of the dry ingredients together to make Bowl 1 and Bowl 2 (from above ingredients)
- Bread shrimp by first coating with Bowl 1 breading mixture, next dip into egg mixture bowl, then coat with Bowl 2 breading mixture. Place breaded shrimp on a cookie pan lined with a silicon mat or parchment paper.
- Spray shrimp with a layer of cooking spray to get them crispy. Bake for 7 minutes. Turn over shrimp, spray again with cooking spray. Cook another 7 minutes.
- Place cooked shrimp in a large bowl and coat with prepared sauce.
This can be found by the barbecue sauce and ketchup, or in the ethnic aisle if your grocery store has one.
I seriously love these Panko breadcrumbs they make everything so much crispy!
My 3 bowls (the egg mixture should actually have been in the middle in this picture) You first coat in Bowl 1 seasoning mix THEN the egg mixture then the Bowl 2 breadcrumb mixture.
All ready to be baked!
I think I used tablespoons of Sirachi instead of teaspoons because my sauce was super spicy so I added some Musselman’s Apple Butter which I found to sweeten up the mixture.
All mixed in the sauce and yummy, just like Bonefish Grill restaurant! (Well mine were a little off in the sauce taste but it is a work in progress and I changed up the recipe a little)

Looks delicious! I love spicy food and shrimp! Thanks for sharing!
It is totally delicious! My husband keeps asking when I am going to make it again!
This looks good. My husband loves shrimp so I am always looking for a different way to make it. He loves spicy foods so I am sure he will like this. Thanks for the recipe.
The secret is to bread them before dipping them into the egg and then dip into the breadcrumbs. The seasoning before hand gives them the extra flavoring and kick!
