The Sili Squeeze For Healthy Food On-The-Go! {Review}

With my boys I remember toting around jars of baby food and little fruit packs and spoons.  We definitely had some messy times and I admit I didn’t give them as much yogurt or applesauce as I would have liked to.  Then with my 18-month old I started seeing these squeeze pouches sold of various fruits, vegetables and even some meat purees.  They required no spoons but they also were disposable.  Now I am one who hates waste and am all about re-using whatever I can.  I also like to save money (I know who doesn’t, right?) and I can definitely make my own food pouches for less than the $1 and more that they cost each.

In comes the Sili Squeeze.

The Sili Squeeze™ is not a bottle – it is a reusable, silicone food pouch intended for homemade baby food and smoothies, in addition to ready-made favorites like yogurt and applesauce.

The BPA- PVC- and Phthalate- free four easy-to-assemble components can be safely cleaned in the top rack of your dishwasher. The eco-friendly contemporary design suits any lifestyle and promotes a more economical approach to feeding your little one healthy, nutritious snacks and meals on-the-go!

The Sili Squeeze is a soft silicone container that you fill, attach a nipple spout to and hand over to your child.  It is intended for beginner eaters starting at 6-9 months.  What is great though is that it is washable and re-useable!  I used to buy the food pouches at Target or Walmart for around $1 each, but now I can fill the Sili Squeeze with my own food.  No longer wasting food pouches that my daughter didn’t like, I can fill the Sili Squeeze with any yogurt or puree that I know she likes for a lot cheaper that $1.  It is a great way to give her a healthy and nutritious snack (or treat) on-the-go!  It is great especially for toddlers who are too big for baby food jars but not quite ready for fast food or just prefer snacks like yogurt or applesauce.

The other benefit of the Sili Squeeze is that it has two nipple spouts available.  There is one that is spill-proof and perfect for beginner eaters.  Then there is the Eeeze Replacement Nozzles which are not spill-proof but they are open to allow easier eating – these are perfect for older kids.  The Sili Squeeze is available in a variety of colors as well as two sizes (4 or 6 ounces.)
Oh and as far as washing goes, it is super easy to clean and re-assemble.

Since my 18 month old was used to the store-bought food pouches, I put the Eeeze spout on for her.  She had no problem sucking away and actually we didn’t have any spills.  My 4 year old too fell in love with the Sili Squeeze and loves it, to him its like a Go-Gurt Yogurt tube but bigger!  He loved that I was able to put in his favorite Strawberry Applesauce and he could bring it with easily outside or in the car, normally he’d have to sit at the table and eat it.

Notice the 1st one has the “X” inside which makes it spill-proof and some resistance when sucking, the 2nd one is open for faster and easier eating for older children.

So yes Sili Squeeze is for on-the-go eating but it is a way to give your child a nutritious snack too and one they like, which for picky eaters like mine is nice.  My kids love their yogurt and applesauce and with the Sili Squeeze they can have it whenever and wherever.  I love the different spout options too as it is great to start with the traditional Sili Squeeze spout and then more onto the Eeeze spout.  Worried about BPA, PVC or Phthalates?  Don’t be, there are none of those in this eco-friendly contemporary designed product.

Sili Squeeze is not just for little ones either.  It is a great product for those who have special needs feeding issues such as those with  Cleft Palate, Cerebral Palsy or Oral aversions.  It is also helpful for those who are bedridden, G-tube fed or have endured facial or reconstrucitve surgery.  It is a great way to give healthy nutrients in a pureed or mashed form to anyone.

    I’ve been wanting the Sili Squeeze pouch for a while now, but it is too expensive. I have a 1 year old and a 6 year old that I’ve tricked into eating a huge variety of vegetables by hiding them in their daily smoothies. The youngest absolutely loves the store squeezable pouches and wants to feed herself. We get those when they go on sale, but I still hate giving her those when I can make healthier versions at home. The Sili Sqeeze Pouch seems like the answer!
