FreePeats and Freecycle

One of my favorite websites to check for babystuff is FreePeats.Org. This website is where you can get baby, toddler, kid and maternity stuff and offer your items to other needy moms. It is like a Craiglist for moms! Not every city is available yet and it is free to join so there is no harm in signing up. So far I have received formula checks that someone mailed to me and 2 bags of brand new baby clothes! All you do is check the FreePeats board and when you see an item you want, email that person and ask about getting the item. Or post your item and arrange for a FreePeats member to get that item from you.

Another free site is Freecycle.Org. This website is actually a Yahoo group that you join that is in the city you live or work in or nearby. You join that particular city’s FreeCycle group and you will begin to get emails with offers of items. (You can change this list to receive individually, daily, or just login to view posts). I recevive the posts individually from the perosn offering the item so I can get in touch with them right away if I see something I want. These items do get taken fast so you have to act fast! So far I have gotten a nice Graco stroller, 2 bags of toddler clothes, 2 packages of Huggies Swim diapers, 1 package newborn diapers, and I know there is more that I can’t think of. You can also offer items that others will pick up from you and request items that you may need. You never know someone may have the item you need laying around there house and happy to be rid of it. FreeCycle is like a free Garage Sale!
