Okay so when I initially thought about creating this blog, I wanted it mainly to share with my friends and family, photos of our kids and money saving ideas. You see friends and family would always ask me “Where do you sign up for….”, “How did you get that so cheap”, “What can I do to save money?” and “Where was that deal you were talking about?” You get the idea. I was hooked on money saving blogs and then I got hooked on linking from one blog to another and I was learning and reading about so many great websites and ideas.
So I created my blog and decided to put everything I can into it, not only for my friends and family but for everyone to see. I want everyone to be able to save money and shop sensibly. People always call me “cheap” or “thrifty” and you know what, I am when it comes to certain things. I am very generous with gifts, my family, we eat out a lot, and we have a lot of nice high tech gadgets. Then there are things like clothes, name brand foods, and shoes that I skimp on. Now yes I do buy those things when needed but I buy items on sale, use coupons, and stock up if something is on sale that we love. I am by far not as thrifty or frugal as some women out there, I just can’t give up certain things! I need my cases of Coke, Salt & Vinegar chips, gummi bears, turkey bacon, lean ground beef, and there are more but I don’t want to ramble!
I also have no shame in garage sailing, thrift store shopping, church sales, and Ebay. I have found some of my sons favorite toys for $1 or less when retail they would cost $20 and up. Also, I have 2 growing boys that get dirty and ruin their clothes, and even though I have a huge generous family who loves to buy them clothes, I still pick up clothes here and there when they are just too cheap to pass up. Like one sale where kids clothes were $.10 each or upscale name brand kid clothes for $.50! –On a side note, when I went sailing in the beginning of the summer I told my husband I was “going sailing this weekend” and he replied ” I didn’t know you went sailing?” It was like I was apparently hiding my inside yachtsman and had a boat on the side that I sailed! He laughed when I told him I meant garage sailing.–
I figured today was a good day to post this as it is my 3 month blog anniversary! I am very excited and have many more ideas and thoughts to share. My idea with this blog is to post personal thoughts and pictures, share coupons, deals, and free samples. I also am very big into scouring the internet for weird and interesting websites. There are just so many websites out there that deserve recognition and have really valuable information. So you will also see website reviews for sites that are fun and neat or just really informative. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, comments, or just want to say “Hi!” I am a new blogger but an expierence internet user so I am slowly trying to merge them both!
I wanted to end with this saying that I found somewhere on the Internet, on one of the many blogs or sites that I look at:
