It pays to call companies…

So yes as a stay at home mom I do sometimes have nothing better to do. Honestly I have only called or written a company directly maybe a handful of times in my life, and the other day was one of them. I recently purchased Garnier Nutrioniste Skin Renew daily regenerating serum and I was far from happy with it. I know I probably got this for free at CVS, but just because it was free shouldn’t mean that it is a crappy product. Now this bottle is 1.7 fl oz and comes out a small pump-like spout as a lotion. You can see thru the bottle once you start using the lotion and when I got about 2/3 down, it would not pump out anymore. I cleaned the pump thinking it was clogged and nothing. I ended up using a q-tip to dig in there to get and apply the lotion as I was determined to use it up. I mean the lotion was quite nice and did leave my skin feeling smooth, I think it was just poorly designed bottle.

So I read the bottle and there was an 800 number, which I decided to call rather than complain to myself how mad I was that I was wasting the rest of it. I immediately got a representative on the line and told her my problem. She was so friendly and said that usually in this case they would require me to send the bottle back to them as they like to test the bottles and figure out what went wrong. She asked me how much I paid and since I honestly cannot remember she said she would mail me out some coupons to replace this product.

Well I got the coupons within a few days of calling and she sent me 3 manufacturer coupons for any Garnier product worth $5, $5, and $3. So I am thrilled and grateful that I can now try out more of the Garnier products and hopefully my bottle was just a fluke and the rest are just fine. I am so happy though that I called otherwise I probably would not have purchased a Garnier product again and this way they get a second chance from me! So in the future if there is something bothering you, really try to take the time and phone or email the company as everyone deserves a second chance and I think companies really appreciate the feedback.

  • WOW what great Qs. I love that product myself, but haven't had trouble with it. CVS deals got me hooked on the Garnier line of skin care products! I still won't pay full price but I search like Indiana Jones for deals. I found 4 of the micro bead cleanser scrubs on a ratty looking clearance rack at a local grocery. They had them marked at $2.50 each and with my $1 coupon.. I stocked up!!
