Okay so for all you Shrek fans out there, Shrek The Musical- Original Cast Recording comes out on cd today! Shrek The Musical is an entirely new musical that debuted on Broadway in New York City on December 14, 2008. It is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! as well as the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek. The show stars Tony Award nominee Brian d’Arcy James as Shrek, Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad, Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker as Donkey and Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia as Pinocchio, among other exceptional cast members.
I have not heard the entire cd yet (Do I hear a Review / Giveaway coming?!? Soon!) but I am sure it will be crazy, funny, and a big hit with us since we are Shrek lovers! The musical was also declared a “big fat hit” by USA Today and “true happiness” by The New York Times so I am sure it can’t be all that bad!
