Gather.com Blog Tour – Fun, New Social Media Site

With so many social media sites available it can be hard to find one that is just right for you. I know I also have a problem where I sign up for everything, but then I neglect my account and never connect with anyone. Well I was just passed on some information about a new site called “Gather” that is all “about connecting with new people who share your interests and experiences today.” It has nothing to do with your past or your friends, but making new friends that you can really relate to.

Whether your hobby or love is music, cooking, writing, politics, or even making money, Gather really has something for everyone. You can check out all the different groups and then join as many as you would like. I have a million different interests and it is nice to join the Gather groups and then check out the posts and other members and see what I have been missing. You can then express yourself in writing comments or posts, posting pictures, and even posting videos. I would say that Gather goes the next step after Facebook because it allows you to meet new people and really express yourself. Gather has thousands of fun and interesting groups that you can join, and if for some reason you can’t find one on a particular subject then you can create your own group!

Oh and the best part is that while you are spending time just enjoying yourself on Gather, you can earn Gather points. To earn points, all you have to do is share your experiences and opinions by starting a conversation about whatever you want to talk about! The more popular your experience and conversation, obviously the more hits it will get and the more points you will receive. Then cash your Gather points in for gift cards at places like Starbucks, Target and Amazon or even paypal cash! You even get 50 points just for joining and for example you can get a $10 CVS gift card for 625 points. You can even promote your quality posts to people who share your interests outside of Gather and share your links on Facebook and Twitter.

I warn you thought it is addicting in joining new groups and browsing around. Just don’t forget to share your own thought and contribute to Gather! Just think of the gift cards as a bonus!
