Robbed at the grocery store!

Is anyone else sick of being robbed at the store? What I mean is it seems like every time I go shopping an item comes up the wrong price. Whether it is a few cents or a few dollars, it is never in my benefit. I could go on and on, but honestly I wonder if these stores do this on purpose because I can only imagine how many people don’t notice they are overcharged.
Today I went to Meijer and I was nice and picked up two packs of beer for my husband since they were on sale and they came up $2 more. I told the cashier the right price and she rolled her eyes and paged for a price check. After thoroughly checking and holding up the line, I was of course right and charged the correct price from the shelf tag. If I had my kids with me or was just not paying attention, I would have paid $4 more than I wanted to and I honestly probably wouldn’t have given my receipt a second look to double check.

Another example was about a 2 months ago, at Jewel-Osco where I bought 2 cantaloupes. Now usually my grocery bill is between $100-$150 so I didn’t think anything of my bill when it was $148, although I barely had any groceries. I meant to look at my bill but as always I got pre-occupied and forgot until the next day when I was cleaning receipts out of my purse. I glanced at my receipt and noticed that it said 62 cantaloupes. Yes 62 cantaloupes! Now I only bought 2, so somehow the clerk typed in 62 and charged me an extra $50! I immediately went to Jewel to get my refund, which I was just told was a mistake. I was fuming because how could she not have noticed that as I really only had like 6 grocery bags. I wanted to ask for a gift card or something for my time and frustration but I was too mad that I just asked for corporate number. Well no sooner did I walk into my front door that the manager called and offered me a $20 gift card. I did have to go pick it up but I haven’t been back to the store since.

Now I could go on and on about my shopping trips, but I would love to hear others stories.
