I wanted to share a great tip on how I Frugally Decorate for the Holidays – basically I shop after the holiday and stock up! I have probably only bought handful of my items before the actual holiday and I only pay full price if it something I have to have or if I think it will sell out when holiday stuff goes on clearance. Our first Christmas, we borrowed items and I shopped at thrift stores. Now we have so much stuff that I could decorate for Christmas three years in a row and put out all new stuff each year! That is another problem you have to watch out for, is buying too much! I also have the tendency to do that!
Some other ways to frugally decorate:
• Make handmade items
• Shop at the Dollar Store
• Take care of your items so they last every year
• Be creative
• Keep each holiday decorations organized so you actually use them and don’t buy duplicates or waste decorations
Well thanks to The Frugal Housewife, she has come up with a great blog tour called Decorating for the Holidays Blog Tour. It features 23 different blogs who all are posting frugal tips on decorating! Check out the list here and also check out the next blog in the blog hop – Grandmother Wren.
