The Allstate Foundation’s “X the TXT: Thumbs Up for the Safest Holiday Ever”

So I have a hard enough time texting when I am stationery that I cannot believe that people can text and drive, but they do. The Allstate Foundation is sponsoring the Thumbs Up to the Safest Holiday Ever cause where they will donate $1 for each pledge received. The donations will go to the National Organization for Youth Safety (NOYS) for teen safe driving. Your pledge to not text and drive can help reduce your risk of being unnecessarily injured or killed behind the wheel, or harming others on the road. Did you know that reaching for your phone while driving increases your risk of being in a car crash by nine times!

To take the pledge, all you have to do is click Join, but you do have to have a Facebook account. Then after you join, you can invite your friends and family and/or post about the cause on your wall in Facebook. It takes seconds to join and every little bit helps. Also, if you are a parent of a teenager make sure you remind them how unsafe it is and make sure you set a good example yourself and don’t text and drive, or for that matter talk on a cell phone while driving. Lets try to make sure everyone has a Happy and Safe Holiday Season this year.

The pledge is running until January 15, 2010 and Allstate will match a total of $25,000. So far we about $12,000 has been donated so a lot more pledges are needed.  Click the image below to join.
