Happy New Years everyone! Now I don’t really make resolutions because I never keep, forget them, or don’t pick creative one (loose weight, drink less caffeine, ….) but I am thinking ahead.
This year we are finally settled into our new house, the house that I want to die in because I love it and I never want to have to move again. My husband and I are already on our third house, last two we rehabbed while living in them basically. We bought this house even though it cost so much more, but there is no work we have to put into it. Of course there are little projects like new tile, paint, and so forth, but nothing major. So I am excited to have a move-free year!
Another thing I am thinking about is that I won’t be pregnant this year, which always seems to last 12 months rather than 9 months. My first son was born in 2007 and my second son was 2008. In 2009, we moved twice and I had two little ones so there was no way we could have another baby and luckily we didn’t. Now don’t get me wrong I would love to have another baby, and hopefully will, but I want my boys just a little bit bigger, maybe when my youngest is in kindergarten I will think about another one. Then I think though do I really want the sleepless nights, the teething, breast milk leakage (TMI?), terrible 2’s, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I loved being pregnant and I would love a houseful of kids.
This year I hope to relax a little bit. We have a Museum membership and Six Flags Amusement Park membership so I hope to get our use out of them. I don’t think we will do any big vacations with the kids this year as they are still young and they love Six Flags and the zoo, so if they are happy with those then that works for me. My husband and I are also probably going to Las Vegas in the summertime because my little brother won a World Series of Poker (which I meant to post about, and still hope to) Circuit Event and therefore won a bunch of money and a ticket to the big WSOP in Las Vegas where the grand prize is about $8 million! Then I already bought my ticket and reserved my hotel for BlogHer 2010! (Last year I waited until the end of January / February and they sold out so luckily I was able to get LobbbyCon tickets which entitled me to hang out in the lobby and go to the expo where the sponsors are.) This year I am super excited plus it is in New York City!
As far as my blog goes, I will be hopefully blogging more personal stories and other ideas. I got caught up with reviews and giveaways, which don’t get me wrong I do love them, but I want all my readers to know there is a person behind Mama’s Money Savers. I actually started the blog wanting to save everyone money and showcase deals and such, so I hope to get a good balance going.
