Disney Social Media Moms: Day 4 #DisneySMMoms

Okay so this day was jam packed for me, as I was in conference sessions basically from 8 AM -5 PM. We had breakfast, lunch, and cocktails, which were fabulous as usual! We heard from Maxine Clark who is the CEO of Build-A-Bear and told us about her story of how she had a dream and went for it. She was definitely inspiring and also explained how her company does everything they can for kids. We heard from Kathy Ireland and how she started her multi-million dollar clothing and home furnishing line at Kmart and despite bankruptcy, her company succeeded. She was so down to earth and nice. I cannot believe how polite and friendly she was and damn did she have nice legs!

We also heard from Marissa Jaret Winokur (starred as Tracey Turnblad from Hairspray on Broadway). She shared her story off how she uses her personality and social media to further her career. She also shared how it was to do Hairspray, Dancing with the Stars, and have a son (surrogate). She was so friendly and not at all a typical celebrity! I loved how she shared how a typical day goes for her and her son and how she really is a regular mom.

Here is a video of her practicing to do Hairspray on broadway with her baby in tow (It is funny!):

Another speaker we heard from is Chris Brogan who is basically a Social Media expert and he was first off hysterical and helpful about what is important as far as blogging and sharing goes. Oh and then we got to listen to the comedy act from Maryellen Hooper. She was hysterical and used her mom experience as her act!

Here is the table of great women that I sat with at dinner:
From Left to Right:  Amy from Saving With Amy, Kristie from This Side of Eternity, Mikki from The Not So Perfect Housewife, Kassie from Southern Bella’s Ways to Save, and Me!

To finish off Friday, we headed over to Hollywood Studios for a Toy Story Dance Party dinner. Since Disney was not prepared for the awful day of ran, they had to squeeze us in this tiny restaurant, which was okay, but I am sure what they had planned was better. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, and more, kids danced, and then even though Hollywood Studios was closed to the public they opened the Toy Story 4D ride just for our families and us. We went on it two more times (probably a total of 25 throughout the few days we were there!) and then headed back to our hotel.

I really wish the weather was nicer because the Polynesian had two great pool areas that would have been so nice to lay by! They also have a great looking dinner show but since it is outside and we had other engagements, we missed it. It was so peaceful and tropical to just walk around both inside and outside. Not to mention the room was huge with 2 beds, a pull out sofa, a desk, two lounge chairs, a balcony, and big bathroom. The Polynesian is also on the Monorail stop which goes to Magic Kingdom so that was nice, otherwise you just catch the Disney buses. Also, to mention the Polynesian is expensive and even though it is super nice I don’t know that we could afford it unless I got an awesome package deal, but it is somewhere to check out to eat or walk around even if you are not staying there.

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer:  Thanks to Mom Select, 5 Minutes for Mom, and Disney, I received a sweetheart deal (discounted package price) for this conference and in turn received Disney goodies and attended great conference sessions.
