Looking For New Eyeglasses?

Since I had my first son, I have gone through 2 pairs of eyeglasses and I am now on my third pair. I used to get really expensive frames and liked the designer brands, but now I need to stay within a budget, but still have fashionable frames. I try so hard to keep them away, but it’s like my glasses call their name and as soon as they touch them, they bend, smudge, or scratch them somehow. I even started wearing contacts as much as possible so it is not as tempting for my kids to grab them off my face, which is another game they like to play!

I remember when I first started wearing eyeglasses, you went to an eye doctor somewhere like Pearle Vision or an actual optometrist office. Then slowly more reasonably priced stores started popping up offering prescription glasses. You could not only get your glasses there but also your vision test. So I started going to those stores to save money, and if a pair got ruined, I know I at least didn’t pay an arm and leg for them. We also have always paid out of pocket because the vision insurance offered to us really didn’t make it worth while and I found out that our health insurance actually gives us a decent discount.

Now for all the tech savvy moms (and dads) like me, you can get fashionable and very reasonably priced eyeglass frames online! So if you still have a valid vision prescription (usually they last one year) you can order a new pair online from a huge selection of styles. Gone are the days of high priced frames and waiting in line for eyeglasses! Yes you still may have to go see an eye doctor for an updated prescription, but if you have an idea of a style you want, why not check out online and see what you can save! I know I used to pay close to $300 for frames and now online, you can get them for around $50 for the lenses and frames of your choice!
