Checking out Kissimmee, Florida

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Kissimmee Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

When you think of Florida, Orlando is probably one of the first towns that come to mind.  Well right next to it, is Kissimmee, which is the Heart of Florida!  It is basically a city that lets you enjoy everything you are looking for in a Florida vacation whether it be theme parks, beaches, outdoor recreation, golf, or just relaxation.  Kissimmee is just about an hour from the Atlantic Ocean, two hours from the Gulf Coast, and right next to Disney World!

I have stayed at the Radisson Resort in Kissimmee before and loved it.  It was cheaper than staying in Disney World and since I didn’t have kids at the time, it was nice to be away from all the kids at the Disney hotels.  We rented a car and drove around, and it was so nice and stress-free.  There are also tons of tourist stores up and down the main street so we did lots of shopping!  Now looking into Kissimmee I found that it really does have a lot to offer!  You can take an airboat ride, go zip-lining, horseback riding, hiking, biking or take the scenic route and check out the downtown areas.  Kissimmee, St, Cloud, and Celebration have adorable boutiques; unique shops, various restaurants and all offer a lakefront view!

I would definitely stay in Kissimmee again, but this time I would spend more time on the lakefront and just relaxing before heading to Disney World!

  • Thanks for the glimpse into Kissimeee! We are heading there later this year! I've already booked a resort suite through a discount site exclusive to military families and retirees. The suite is large enough for 10 people (for the same price as any other available room or suite, so I chose the largest one). We have family members meeting us there. It will be so much fun!

  • We love Kissimmee. We're planning a trip to Florida in May and have reservations in Kissimmee. It's so much cheaper than staying on Disney property, and we enjoy the variety of restaurants, etc.

  • You hit the nail on the head when you spoke about Kissimmee. There are tons of touristy stores to shop in and it is so close to Disney but there are so many places to stay that are less expensive than those on the property. There are also lots of time-share properties available if you want to do your own cooking and wash your clothes or if your stay is longer that a few days.
Celebration, where I live, is a wonderful small community that offers lots of great laid-back opportunities for people who are looking for a slowed down vacation.
Thanks for a great review of my area. Come on down everyone!
