I have fine china…now what?

One thing that I never thought about before I was registering for my wedding was china and fine linens.  I never really thought about it and really why would I want to bother with it.  Well I made the mistake of having my mom come with me to register for my wedding at Bed Bath and Beyond, and she said “You have to register for china!”  I didn’t understand but I went ahead and picked out a set.  I didn’t add in any of the extra dishes, silverware, glasses, or linens, and I really didn’t think anyone would buy it for me.

I remember my mom mentioning Pfaltzgraff dinnerware at some point as they have really nice silverware and dinnerware.  Well in the end I got my whole set of china and the accent plates, which I don’t even remember registering for.  Yes it looks absolutely beautiful in my china cabinet, but I was also fortunate enough to get a hand me down china cabinet and dining room set that after I re-upholstered the chairs, it is very modern.  Yes we do use our china dinnerware when we host holidays, but I never break out all the extra plates and settings, as it is a 5-piece set and we only use the one big plate!

Maybe one day I will go all out and actually try out some of the HGTV decorating tips, but for now I will make do with the little bit of creativeness I have and stay within my budget!
