So after living here for a year, I finally started to organize my office and go through drawers. Since the office was not a priority when we moved in, I pretty much shoved stuff wherever I could fit it. The office also became a “catch-all” for everything that didn’t really have a place, but I didn’t quite want to throw away. (No I am not a hoarder, but since we have the room I do keep odds and ends that I think we might be able to use some day.)
Anyways, for whatever reason I came across a handful of these car seat ID tags. Now I do think it is a great idea, but did I really need five, and should they be in my office, and not my car seats? I actually got them last year at Blog Her as some girl asked if I had kids, shoved them in my face, and got off the elevator. So if your wondering, a car seat ID tag is a tag that attaches to your car seat to identify your kids and important information. I admit I brought them home from Blog Her and they ended up in my bottomless pit of a filing cabinet.
Now that my boys are a little bigger, I think a child safety ID is important and even though I am not sure how effective it would be to have one on a car seat now, I think I should keep one in my son’s backpack at least. I figure I can just make one up myself and stick it in there or there are many id card printer websites that I can order one from. Now of course it is only effective if my son’s backpack is with him but at least it would be there just in case.
Do you use any ID’s for your children or any other way to identify them?

The only ID we use is Luci's medical ID bracelet. Not much on ID since it only has her first name, but lists her allergies. I have never heard of car seat ID tags. Interesting concept and as a paranoid, high stung mama, has my wheels spinning. Maybe something like that on our carseats wouldn't be a bad idea.
Too funny!
