So my kids are at grandma and grandpa’s for the day and I have the task of catching up on my blog and cleaning the house, yeah for my exciting day! So I have my sister here helping (or should I say I am paying her to do most of the cleaning) so I can at least tackle some of my blog posts and office papers. I don’t know how but we accumulate so much paperwork in my office that I have baskets full!
Anyway, one of the big challenges for the day is the playroom. It is a disaster! All the bins have been dumped, you can barely walk and I have no doubt that there will be food or a sippy cup amongst the mess in there. Yeah, there is nothing worse than finding curdled milk or rotten food mixed in with your kids toys. I also am trying to get rid of some toys so I am putting aside broken toys or ones to sell in boxes. Oh and we also have some toys that are too babyish that I am putting aside for any future babies I might have!
So as I am cleaning up the room and trying to re-organize it, I notice that we really don’t have a lot of wooden toys. I personally love wooden toys as they seem to really take my son’s abuse and last and I don’t have to worry about recalls (unless of course there is lead paint on them which so far there hasn’t been.) Something too about opening a new wooden toy and smelling that fresh smell I like too, weird I know! So I am grouping all the wooden toys together now in hopes that my boys play with them more, especially too because they don’t take batteries!
