ABOUT THIS STORY
Burdened by responsibility and trapped by routine, this ogre has lost his roar. In order to recapture his past as a real ogre, Shrek is tricked into striking a bargain with Rumpelstiltskin, trading a day from his life as part of the deal. But the fine print of the contract lands him in an alternate universe where hes feared, all right, but hes also never rescued Fiona or met Donkey, Puss in Boots, Gingy and all his fairytale friends. Now, to get back to reality and his family, he has to find Fiona and defeat the devious Rumpelstiltskin before the deal expires.

MY THOUGHTS:

Now I haven’t seen Shrek Forever After yet, but this book app does an excellent job of covering the story.  It is so long too as it really does do justice to make sure it is covering the storyline and plot thoroughly.  My son love both the Read to Me and Autoplay as he can just hold it and sit there.  My 3 year old hasn’t seen Shrek yet, and loves this book so I think we will be watching the other Shrek movies soon.  The graphics in this app are absolutely amazing too, it is so realistic looking and fun.  You can flip the pages at your own pace if you’d like and on each page is Squeaker which is a little green plush that if you find him and tap, he squeaks!  He is hidden pretty well on some pages but we have found them all, this is just another great way to get interactive with the book.  I also found that the narrators voice was perfect for storytelling and I enjoyed listening to it.  Oh and on some pages I found that you can click on people or animals for additional voice sounds, like Mike Meyers comments for Shrek.  Every time we play this app it is a different experience!  I look forward to checking out other story books by iStorytime!
