So to continue my post from yesterday, I am still re-organizing the playroom as I am finding this to be a bigger project than I expected. I am just amazed at how many toys and books we have accumulated in just the 3 years my son has been alive! Now granted I do have two boys and they are the first grandchildren on both sides, plus my grandma spoils them rotten! So I am now trying to organize the boys toys by games, learning toys, puzzles, wooden toys, blocks, cars, figurines (little people) and a small box for miscellaneous. I hate miscellaneous but there are just some toys I don’t know how to classify and don’t want to get rid of yet. Oh and then we have a few ball popper toys my boys still play with, a LEGO table, a train table, a workbench with tools and a bookcase full of books. I know I am missing some toys, but that it the bulk of it.
I decided to go to Target and buy those metal crates that attach and put colored bins in them. Then I organized the toys and put the bins on the bottom and bigger toys on the top. So far so good, but then again it only takes minutes for my boys to destroy the room! Right now I am still working on getting rid of toys both for a garage sale and to throw away since they are broken or missing pieces. I figure then I will donate what doesn’t sell, but I at least want to try to get something for them since toys do cost a lot in general. I figure too that even though my boys do have their favorites they do rotate their toys pretty good and play with most of their toys. I also have the room in the house so I figure if they will play with it, even if it is just a little bit, I might as well keep it.
