Camping gear at a garage sale

The problem with having a garage sale with someone else is that you pretty much have all day to shop their stuff while you are waiting for customers.   This is what happened to me at my aunt’s house over the weekend.  I had brought my stuff, my aunt had stuff, her neighbor, and my mom even boxed up some stuff.  So as I was unpacking and loading up the tables I started shopping them too!  Like I all I need is more junk, but they do say “One person’s junk is another person’s treasure.”  I also love the hunt of finding a good bargain and love to window shop in general.  Garage sales are right up my alley.

My aunt had really cleaned out her house and garage so she had some random items out there.  Some of the items were a lawn jockey, antique gumball machine, sewing machine, typewriter and old camping gear.  I cannot even picture her going camping but I didn’t get the chance to ask her about it.  I think she used to go camping with my uncle before they were married, that is how old this stuff was!  Nothing fancy like today, just old and dusty!   She tried pawning off one of her old camping tents to me, but I just couldn’t take it.    If by some small miracle I do go camping, I would probably want something newer and more reliable.  Her tent was also only a two-person tent, which wouldn’t fit all of us anyways!  I thought about using it as a play tent for the kids and maybe I should have taken it, but I left it there.  We are having the garage sale next weekend too and how knows maybe if it doesn’t sell there will be some camping going on in my backyard next season.
