Sears is having a huge sale on Energy Star qualified appliances so everyone can make the Big Switch to Energy Star! Sears is the 2010 Energy Star Retail Partner of the Year so it is only natural that they want to help out families save money on appliances and utility bills! The Big Switch initiative helps families recycle inefficient appliances and save up to $2,500 on their utility bills over time. Sears will also responsibly dispose of old appliances for consumers.

Now in my house we were lucky to have pretty new appliances in our kitchen, but we do have a really old second refrigerator and washer/dryer. Our house is fourteen years old and they are probably original appliances, so they will need to be replaced soon I’m sure. With all this talk about Energy Star appliances being so much more energy efficient; I am definitely considering replacing them sooner than later. I also want to reduce my carbon footprint as much possible and I am sure my old in-efficient appliances are not helping!
