Have You Thought About Solar Power?

Solar Power is something I never really put too much thought into.  I just assumed the cost of solar power was too expensive and wouldn’t be worth it in the long run.  I have read though that there are different ways to make your home solar which if you do it the wrong it will cost you an arm and a leg.  There are though ways that are affordable and will pay off just as a long-term investment would!

Some benefits of upgrading your home to solar electricity:

  • Lowers monthly electricity bills and protects you from yearly electricity rate increases.
  • Is clean and renewable.
  • Increases home value.
  • Helps the environment by reducing amount of greenhouse gases and other pollutants released into the atmosphere.
  • You can support your community by choosing local solar installers.

Now I know solar panels are not the most appealing looking but for the money you can save it seems to outweigh the ugliness!  I don’t know that I would take the plunge and choose residential solar but I think it is a great idea.  I would really have to figure out the upfront cost and see if the long-term cost will be less than my regular electricity bill.  I am sick of ridiculous electric bills and want to do something for the environment but I am not up to the challenge yet.
