Web Design and Photo Editing

Its funny when I think back to my first web design of my blog, which at that time was “Mama’s Money Savers.”  I had a free template I used from Google Blogger and I really had no clue what I was doing!  At a few months I changed my design again and again, then I actually paid a graphic designer to design a template for me.  I actually received an awesome deal and stuck with that template for over a year.  I even kept it when I switched to WordPress last February.  Now though that I have changed my name, again a new design was needed.  I am so happy with it and hopefully I can stick with this one for awhile!

My next challenge is a photo editor.  Currently I use iPhoto on my Mac, but it doesn’t do as much as I’d like.  I see some pictures on other blogs and I’m like “I want my pictures to look like that!”  I would love to try out Photoshop but I hate to invest the money in the software and not be able to figure out how to use it!

There are so many photo editing programs out there, which do you use or recommend?
