Smallville is not just a show about Clark Kent beating the odds and suspense, but also romance. Clark has had numerous romances throughout the series, but his most notable trysts are Louis Lane, Lana Lang and Chloe Sullivan.
Chloe and Clark were my favorite couple because I saw Chloe as the underdog. Chloe has been friends with Clark since the eighth grade and is actually Lois Lane’s cousin. She has been his best friend and stood back in the shadows with her feelings for him. In Season 3 (Episode 10 “Whisper”) Chloe and Clark work things out after Clark discovers that Chloe has been helping Lionel Luthor uncover information about him in exchange for a job at the Daily Planet. I think it was great that they were able to work past things and come to an understanding, especially after their long history together.
I did like Clark with Lois and Lana, but Chloe was always a good friend and there for him, and I’m a sucker for underdogs! I love when the main character of shows and movies end up with their best friends whom you knew the whole time they should be with!
