Shopping for a new TV stand…

In our basement we have pretty much leftover furniture that I have thrown together to make work.  Our couches are totally different in designs but I have them covered in black couch covers so they at least match.  One day I’d like to get actual matching couches down there since the couch covers are constantly falling off and don’t look the greatest, but for now two new couches is out of our budget.  Next we have a big square coffee table, which I love because it is perfect for board games but it again is not the prettiest looking.  Since I love my video games, I do have three video game chairs that don’t match but each do the job.  Oh and I do have a totally funky colored chair that my neighbor was getting rid of and I took, it is a weird shape so I can’t purchase a chair cover on it but it does have some black in it so it works.

One piece of furniture I have been considering lately though is a new modern tv stand.  I would love something more sleek looking that the beat up wooden stand we are currently using.  I actually got it at a garage sale for $25 and it has been through two of our moves already so it has taken some abuse.  I have been searching around online and can’t decide if I want wooden or metal, or a combination.

I am thinking wooden might be better with the kids, especially one with drawers since I can store all the games and DVDs in it.  Checking out discount tv stands is definitely something I have been considering.  If it was up to my husband he’d get one of the flat panel tv stands, but then we would need a flat screen tv since we have an old tube television in the basement right now!

For now I will keep browsing and dreaming.  I guess I never thought a tv stand would be such a hard purchase to decide on!
