Snacking on Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt #cleveryogurt #cleveroikos #spon

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls on behalf of Dannon. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program but my opinions are my own.

I am not a big yogurt fan but towards the end of my pregnancy and then since after I have become quite the yogurt addict.  Until this week though I have been pretty boring with yogurt and was only eating Strawberry and Cherry flavors.  My issue with yogurt though is that it doesn’t fill me up and it is usually thinner than I’d like.

Recently I have been hearing more and more about “Greek” yogurt and I honestly would never have tried it unless I had a push from Clever Girls.  If you don’t know what greek yogurt is, it is a yogurt produced by a straining method that removes the whey from the yogurt resulting in a rich and creamy texture.  I was now on a mission to try out the new Dannon Oikos yogurt.  I headed to my local Target, which didn’t carry it so I went off to the next store and found it!

Sorry I forgot to take a picture before my husband and I devoured it!

First off Dannon Oikos comes in a 5.3 ounce container in three flavors for the Traditional Varieties:  Strawberry, Raspberry, and Key Lime.    There are also other yummy flavors like Vanilla and Blueberry in the other varieties (4-packs, Single Serve, and Quarts under 0% fat.)  What I noticed off about the yogurt is that it is so much thicker than traditional yogurt.  Now if you don’t like thicker consistencies in your foods than you probably won’t like this, but for me it was awesome!  I love that I was able to savor and squeeze the flavors around in my mouth.  I also felt filled afterwards, which normally I’d eat at least two yogurts (yes that defeats the purpose of snacking wisely!)

I tried out the Strawberry (of course, its my favorite) and Blueberry so far and loved them.  They are a fruit at the bottom yogurt so for me I dug up the fruit and immediately mixed it around.  The thick and creamy texture which the rich pieces of fruit, were tart but just right for me.  I am definitely hooked on Dannon Oikos now and don’t think I could ever go back to traditional yogurt.
