Check out the uDraw Your City Contest!

Living just 40 minutes from Downtown Chicago, we regularly visit the “Windy City.”  There is just so much to do in Chicago and see that I don’t think we could even get bored of our visits!  From the amazing skyline full of skyscrapers to the lakeshore of Lake Michigan.  The architectural design of some of the buildings and random sculptures throughout the city are just amazing.  It is neat too how everything flows downtown and around the lake like it was all designed ahead of time instead of piece by piece!  My boys are always so excited when the skyline is in our view.  I think my favorite is the ferris wheel at Navy Pier as it always makes me smile for some reason.  My husband loves the Sears tower, especially with the addition of the SkyDeck.

My boys are just starting to build with their blocks and draw with crayons the city and skyline and it is amazing to watch their creativity and imagination take off.

In an effort to inspire young artists ages 6 to 17 years old, a nationwide art contest has launched called “uDraw Your City.”  Contests can use a a uDraw GameTablet to illustrate what they love most about their city – entries may also be created using any other artistic medium.

THQ and uDraw invite kids to embrace artistic inspiration and share “what your city, your town, or your community means to you.”  Whether it be a favorite building, a drawing of your friends at the park or even a local hero/athlete.

The contest runs through October 31, and the grand prize winner will receive a package worth more than $15,000, including a uDraw, and a $10,000 cash prize that the winner can choose to apply toward a college scholarship.  Additionally, THQ will donate $10,000 to the winner’s school of choice to help support its art program. Entries are judged on artistic merit (based on age group), creativity, and adherence to the overall city theme.
