So I have really been considering buying a chest freezer for extra food storage. I have found that most of the food I buy goes in the freezer anyways. I have also been considering trying out freezing meals to have them on hand. Bear in mind that I hate cooking and I am not a meal planner, I know this is going to be a challenge for me.
I stated thinking though about long term food storage when I saw on the News today that in Massachusetts they have snow already! Its October and they have snow! In Chicago we also get crazy weather and with three kids I am already dreading grocery shopping in the wintertime. Trying to manage groceries on my own is hard enough, let alone having one to three kids with me! I have even heard jokes from friends in Florida about living off canned goods and freeze dried food.
Last year we had a snowstorm that lasted a good three days where we couldn’t have left the house if we wanted to, and they are saying this year will be worse in coldness and amount of snow. I am not sure how they are predicting that but it scares me.
