What Men Should Never Say to a Woman…

In The Big Bang Theory Leonard and Penny had their first date in Episode 1 of Season 2.  Unbeknownst to each other, they are both insecure even though they have feelings for each other.  When Leonard learns of Penny’s insecurity about her intelligence, he gives her brochures to a local community college and tells her he is fine dating a girl who isn’t smart. Penny abruptly slams the door in his face.

There are many things a man shouldn’t say to a women, including that she isn’t smart!  Three things off the top of my hand that a man should never say to a woman are:

• Yes, you look fat
• What did you do all day? (to a stay at home mom)
• What did you make for dinner?

So yes I ask my husband for his opinion and luckily we have been married long enough that I do want his honest opinion, but in the beginning I wanted him to lie!  Really though to be on the safe side a man should never tell a women she looks fat!  As far as “What did you do all day?” for a stay at home mom, I am lucky I get the chance to quickly shower that household chores do take second priority when I have a needy child.  I also run my own website which I try to take care of when I get a few minutes!  So anything I can accomplish in a day makes me happy!  Finally, I hate when my husband bugs me about dinner.  I have three kids at home and two of my kids go to preschool at different times plus the third is a newborn.  I do try to make dinner for my family as often as I can, but when I have three kids bugging me plus my husband bugging me on the phone what’s for dinner, I go crazy!  I also don’t think it is necessarily a women’s job to always prepare dinner, especially if both are working.

I love my husband though and even though he bugs me at times, none of those things would be a dealbreaker in our relationship.  Men are just different than women and sometimes need a little push in the right direction.  I always tell my husband “Happy Wife = Happy Life!”  I think too once a man is married he learns what not to say and what to say!
