It is amazing how shopping has evolved. Back in the day people would go to their local store that had everything they needed. Then there was door to door salesmen who sold items from makeup to vacuums. Then there was catalogue and telemarketer shopping. So far only door to door salesman have gone extinct but then again there are still representatives that will come to your door when invited or to host a party at your house! Back when my mom was younger they had Tupperware parties and now there are parties for everything from candles to adult toys!
As far as catalogue shopping goes, I will say I am tempted to shop from the many catalogues I get but I end up just looking online. My grandma does still buy my boys items from catalogues, most recently they got personalized bathrobes. I think if you don’t have the Internet or get out much, then catalogues are probably the way to go. I think catalogue shopping will be around for awhile as some people like to browse the pages and have a paper copy in their hands, rather than clicking around with a mouse. Catalogues are great to have for ideas too and to browse through to pass the time (maybe bathroom reading material?)
For me, I shop mostly online and then in stores. With three small kids I don’t get out much and I can honestly find better prices online most of the time.
Where do you shop the most? Online, Catalogues, Phone?
