(Yes this is my actual laundry room – pitiful I know)
Laundry and me have a love-hate relationship. I love the smell of laundry detergent and softener and don’t mind actually washing the clothes, but I hate putting the clothes away. I am fortunate enough to have our washer and dryer on our main floor (although upstairs would be better) and it is right off the kitchen. I can work on the laundry while cooking dinner or watching the kids play in the family room. I also find myself using washcloths more often to clean or wipe up spills rather than paper towels because I can toss the washcloths right in the laundry room. Our laundry room though is very small, which is the only room in the whole house I would really change, so I do have to maximize shelves to make the most of our laundry room.
To make laundry fun, or should I say bearable, I like to challenge myself. I like to see how many loads I can get done in a certain time, can I get a certain stain out, or how can I save money in our laundry room. As far as saving money goes in the laundry room, other than of course using coupons or getting detergent on sale, I try run our washer/dryer at off-peak times (usually around 9pm), I only run full loads, I use smaller amounts of detergent to stretch the bottle, and I use cold water for everything except whites.
Laundry though is something that needs to get done and I have learned to live with it. With two active boys who constantly challenge my laundry abilities, a husband who constantly changes his clothes, and a baby on the way, laundry and me like I said have a love-hate relationship!

I used to hate doing laundry. But after using this new detergent "puretergent" it seems like its becoming more bearable. I always had issues with smelly clothing and dirt not being able to come off, but with this detergent it completely takes off stains and leaves it with a clean smell. No harsh chemicals and Eco friendly is a plus. Its also in a nice light weight pouch that you can hang in your laundry room. Give it a try!
That actually looks like our laundry room at times O.o
Our laundry room is also on the main floor right across from the kitchen and it leads out to the garage-I guess you could say it's a laundry room/extremely small mud room.
Thankfully, I only usually have to wash my laundry and maybe do a load of towels now and again-The thing is, I really enjoy doing it most of the time!
I know, I'm just a weird one like that. Lol
I love doing laundry too, its putting it away that I hate!
Our washer has a time delay setting so I an put the dirty clothes in when I get home from work, but delay the start until the middle of the night. Then as soon as I get up I run the dryer!
That's awesome! My dishwasher has a delay that I can do that with.
This isn't too pitiful. You are lucky to have a laundry room.
Yes I am. I couldn't imagine not having one, especially with kids. Thanks for the reminder to be grateful!
