New Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers Review @Healthy_Choice

There are plenty of days I don’t feel like cooking and those days I turn to my freezer.  Luckily Healthy Choice has a great line of frozen entrees that are always a hit for my husband and I!  With more than 60 varieties in the frozen food aisle, Healthy Choice definitely knows what they are doing.  This year Healthy Choice has teamed up with Bravo’s Top Chef to introduce an exclusive line of eight Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers.  The Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers are a line of bold meals that are both healthy and delicious.  The line includes quality ingredients such as slow roasted garlic, asparagus and grilled eggplant.

What makes the Healthy Choice Café Steamers different than traditional frozen entrees is that they have a steaming tray built-in that allows them the food to steam in the microwave for crispier vegetables, tender meats and al dente pastas.  Each of the Top Chef entrees also include a the Top Chef mark, along with a description on why each entrée is inspired by Top Chef.

The new line includes:

  • Barbeque Seasoned Steak with Red Potatoes
  • Chicken Fresca with Chardonnay
  • Chicken Linguini with Red Pepper Alfredo
  • Chicken Margherita with Balsamic
  • Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan
  • Grilled Chicken Pesto with Vegetables
  • Grilled Vegetables Mediterranean with Rice
  • Roasted Chicken Marsala with Mushrooms

So far I have tried the Barbeque Seasoned Steak with Red Potatoes and the Grilled Chicken Pesto with Vegetables and both were delicious!  I don’t think I ever had steak in a frozen entrée and was skeptical at first, but it was really good.  I actually made it for my husband and put it on a plate without showing him the package and he couldn’t believe it was Healthy Choice!  The steak was definitely seasoned to perfection and topped with just the right amount of vegetables.  The meal is also only 330 calories!  I will definitely be stocking up on these for him.  I had the Grilled Chicken Pesto with Vegetables and the chicken was not rubbery or dry but rather chewy and moist.  The dish had a good amount of chicken, vegetables with basil pesto sauce and rotini noodles.  I am a huge pesto fan so it was nice for me to find a quick meal with it.   Neither dish tasted like it was frozen just minutes before and for the price they can’t be beat.

Overall, while I was a Healthy Choice fan before I am an even bigger one now.  I am also curious now to watch Top Chef to see where the inspiration came from!

BUY IT:  Healthy Choice meals featuring the Top Chef mark are at grocery stores nationwide for a suggested price of $2.75 – $3.50.  For more information, www.healthychoice.com or www.bravotv.com/showdown
